TWYN collects as little as possible. This page explains what we store, why, and your rights under the GDPR.

What we do not collect

• Your video and your audio: they go directly between devices with encrypted WebRTC and are never recorded by TWYN.
• Your card details: payments are handled by Polar and its payment provider.
• Advertising or tracking data: the website and the app have no ads and no trackers.

What we store

• Account: display name, username and tag, email address, avatar link, language, the identifier given by Discord or Google when you sign in with them, creation date. Purpose: running your account (contract).
• Friends, rooms and invitations: who you are friends with, the lobbies you create, and the last 100 chat messages of each lobby (deleted with the lobby; temporary lobbies are deleted 10 minutes after they empty). Purpose: providing the social features (contract).
• Subscription: plan, status and end date received from Polar, referral relationships. Purpose: providing Pro (contract) and accounting (legal obligation).
• Security data: IP addresses kept up to 2 hours to limit abuse, sign-in codes valid 10 minutes, technical logs kept a few days by our host. Purpose: security (legitimate interest).
• Messages you send us through the contact or creators forms. Purpose: answering you.

On your PC, the app keeps its settings, your soundboard files and your sign-in token (encrypted by Windows). Snapshots, clips and recordings are saved in your Pictures and Videos folders and never uploaded.

Processors

• Cloudflare (API, database, connection relay for Pro)
• Vercel (website)
• Polar (payments, merchant of record)
• Resend (sign-in emails)
• Discord and Google (only if you sign in with them)
• GitHub (download of the installer)

Some of these companies are in the United States; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long

Account data is kept until you delete your account, which you can do in the app at any time; it is then erased within 30 days, except invoices that the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to some uses and limit them. Most of it can be done in the app; otherwise write to us through the contact page. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

The phone page

The phone camera page only uses your camera after you allow it, sends the video directly to your PC, and remembers your camera settings in your phone’s browser.
